New Tools: Timer and Question-Queue

I’m still developing new tools for people who teach in SL or give lectures/sessions/speeches.

After my last tool (the low lag/low prim voting tool) I thought about events in SL where you need to give your audience some time to think about something, maybe do some research on their own. If you do that, it will be useful to have a clock that will show how much time is still left. So I now offer a countdown timer that can be used for times from 1 second (lol) up to 99 minutes. Just say the desired time in a hidden chat channel and the timer starts. It will ring a bell if it reaches 00:00 and it will also announce this in public chat. This tool can be configured for high-lag areas to update the display every 5 seconds instead of every second.

The other tool is also useful for discussions and in classes. If you want to get questions in the correct order and you don’t want to miss any question, you can just juse the useful question queue. It looks like a giant question mark that you just place somewhere in the room. If an avatar clicks on it it will start blinking and do a rotation (using a low lag rotation script). All avatar names will be listed in order and you can just remove them one by one to allow questions.
