Basic Scripting 101/102 - Explaining the basics of LSL
Instructor - Jim Gustafson
Date: Tuesday May 13.
Time: 10:00 AM SLT (PDT)
Class 101 will explain the basic theory on LSL. What is LSL? We will show you some scripted objects to give you an idea what is possible in LSL.
Class 102: creating of a new default script, walking you through the script using the cursor keys. Exploring the status line with column and line count, producing a syntax error and checking why it will not always show the correct line number in the error message. Then fixing the syntax error and saving the script again.
Students will learn:
- To create a new default script
- To understand and use the script editor
- To understand what the default script is and what it does
This class is BEGINNER level.
PREREQUISITES: Students should be able to use their camera view and the chat history. They should also be able to rez a prim.

My little filmmaking project in virtual worlds is now using Moodle to teach all necessary skills that the team needs to produce the SlipStream Episodes. We are starting the first course with Screenwriting skills. The course is free for all SlipStream team members.

Machinima Tips and Tricks: Tuesday April 8th. at 12 PM SLT in Eson Classroom #4
The Tips and Tricks class (Tuesday) is a completely new one where you will learn:
- Useful Keyboard shortcuts for machinima
- How to control daylight and weather
- Useful Zoom tricks
- how to control avatar head and facial expression
- how to do lip-sync
We are also looking form machinima-interested people who want to help with a serial production in virtual worlds like the Second Life(c) Community.

Machinima Basics - how to make films in SL

This class will tell the students how they can create a film or video in Second Life. Machinima is an alternative to film in RL and it saves a lot of money because you don’t need to have a real set and real actors. All you need is a place to build and some avatars that can do acting in your movie.
Students will learn:
- What is machinima
- What software do you need to record in Second Life
- Tips and Tricks for recording in Second Life
- Special tools, here: Alt-Zoom Camera
This class is BEGINNER Level, but you should already know how to move your avatar in SL and how to control your camera.
